Blog #2

In Ian Daly's Virtual Popularity Isn't Cool-It's Pathetic he really targets on how social media is ruining lives and not even worth having. Daly has a very strong opinion on social media and having a thousand, million, or even trillion friends online who aren't even your friends. When I first read this story I was agreeing with him. But then we discussed about it in class and I heard everyone's thoughts and started to change mine. I disagree because so much good came come from social media that isn't that easy to get in real life. Now a days you have to know people to get around in the career life and make good friends who can help you get there and other goals you'd like to achieve. Social media is the perfect way to give you a little push to get there. Because without it you wouldn't be able to communicate in such a way even communicating with family members far away. It's easier to just send a quick message or have a quick video chat instead of having to call and ring ring wait forever.

Blog #1 Response to any readings

In Steve Craigs Mens Men and Womens Women he really uses American fantasies from 20 years ago and ties them up together with the fansaties we have today. For example in womens man he uses similar traits of how women wants men back in that day. A man whos strong and confident and knows how to appreciate a womens desire and beauty. I happen to agree with this analysis becasuse I am a woman and I would have to say yes that's how woman would want a man to be with them. All of Craigs anaylsis about men and women 20 years ago and today are very much the same. The only things that have really changed is more of an emotional connection instead of just a physical attraction.
